Blackhead FREE!

Blackhead remover masks have caused quite the uproar the last year or so, you can only imagine my excitement when Rubybox decided to send me some samples to try! Gone are the days of using my painful blackhead remover tool on my nose and chin!

Step 1: Get steamy!

So after washing my face and making sure all the make up is removed, I was given clear instructions to first steam my face before applying the mask.

And so I steamed for about 10min on my bed with iTunes on.

I steamed my face over a bowl of hot water before, but I thought I'd try the "Microwave - Cloth" this time. In the Cape Town-Cold the facecloth went cold so quickly and I had to re-heat the cloth several times, it got irritating. I will rather steam over a bowl next time.

Step 2: Get Sticky!

Time to apply... theeee stickiest mask you will ever use! I used my fingers to apply the mask and everything went well! I honestly enjoyed every second of it! (Except cleaning my white bathroom basin...)

Step 3: Wait for it...

Now it's time to wait for the mask to dry, it takes up to 20-minutes. So I went to Showmax and watched an episode of Younger while painting my toe-nails, if you must ask, I painted them black (I thought it fits the theme).

Step 4: Take it Off!

As you can see in the photo, I was super nervous to take it off! But I went for it anyway! I read somewhere that when pulling the mask off, try pulling up and off as much as possible. There has been quite the controversy of the mask being painful to remove, with videos of ladies screaming at the lens. Fortunately, I have a very high pain tolerance and I am used to waxing and threading, so first disclaimer, it was not painful for me at all, but VERY satisfying to remove!

The BIG Reveal:

Well, apparently I don't have a lot of blackheads? Yeah, it only pulled out hairs and some of the significant pores (this may be due to the fact that I did not steam enough) Afterwards, my skin looks shiny and clear and my pores look visibly smaller. I will definitely use this mask again to get rid of those pesky black spots invading my nose! This picture was taken the day after, and it's with a filter, but hey, bear with me here, I was up late nights/early mornings studying and I DID not look the part for a no-makeup-selfie!
